This is an intermittent problem. Ran fine last year, and it ran perfectly for an hour and a half this weekend. Then, I shut it down and wanted to restart it five minutes later. It cranked, but did not fire. I am not seeing a spark when I take a plug out and ground it to the block while cranking. It started one time when I switched the "dead man" switch from "off" to "run" while cranking. That made me think it is a short or loose connection in the Quicksilver remote, but I don't see anything. Anyone have any problems with the "dead man" switch? Ignition switch? Switchbox was replaced last year by the dealer. Any ideas?

You can buypass the remote by removing the wire from the powerpac and see if that cures your problem. ALso a defective mercury switch on the engine will keep it from starting. You can disconnect it also. (they dont go bad much)
