89' merc 175 fuel pump?

Sounds like a good place to start, even if it's not your immediate problem, it could lead to an even larger problem if it continues to leak and ignite under the hood. May go boom. I would rebuild pump, kit is about $9.50 then see how it works. good luck.

89' merc 175 fuel pump?

I was on the lake Sat. and my motor was acting very sluggish. I took off my cowling and pumped the bulb and saw some gas leaking from the bottom of my fuel pump. Could this be part of my problem?? The motor was acting like it was starved for gas. It seems if the fuel pump has fuel leaking from the bottom then it is not air tight. (diaphram style fuel pump.) Any help appreciated. Thanks
