Picked up a boat with the above motor on it. Looking everything over and noticed that nothing is connected to the nipple in the picture. Does anyone know what hose connects here and where it's suppose to be routed? I've looked through the manual and cant see anything in the manual. It's directly under the starter on the starboard side. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Somebody removed the oil injection. That's the check valve that provided pressure to the oil tank. You should remove it and plug it.

Ok. That makes perfect sense b/c the oil injection has been removed and has a block off plate where the pump use to be. Just a simple vacuum plug or completely remove the nipple from the motor and install a threaded plug? Thanks for the quick reply.

Threaded bronze (not brass) plug will do the trick. If you can find an aluminum plug thats even better. You can just leave it as is but I prefer removing it. They have been known to be at the root of an occasional misfire and stumble. Not always but if you have that this is probably why.
