Hey Guys. First of all, you all are great. I've got a 1989 Johnson 110 on a 17 1/2' Javelin bass boat. I've read a lot of your responses to other people and realize that this problem may not be any different to those but please humor me. Motor starts great, Idles great but at WOT it's not there. Only about 1950 rpms and 10 mph. Checked all linkages, seems ok. Haven't used the boat but three times since last year but I unplugged the fuel line and ran the carbs empty before wintering (not sure if that is good or not) and had practically no fuel in tank to carry over to this season. I removed the plugs and found that two on one side were clean and dry but the other two were damp. I've got spark coming from all wires. Does a specific carb feed each bank or do they both feed all cylinders? Also It revs fine in neutral. I pumped the primer bulb while running and no difference. I pulled the fuel line at the quick disconnect and pumped the bulb and got plenty of fuel. After reading some of the posted messages I'm concerned about my automatic oiler. It never has seemed to need refilling as often as I feel that it should. How do I check to see if it is oiling sufficiently? Thanks for your help.:)

when you disconnect fuel line and run carbs dry, the VRO fills the float chamber with oil. The 2 cylinders that have dry sparkplugs may have stuck float or plugged main jet. 2 carburators 4 throats 1 throat per cylinder, 1 float per 2 cylinders. Mark VRO oil tank, if working level will go down.

Thanks Clanton. Never entered my mind that the oiler would continue to pump to the carbs. This is my first outboard that doesn't use pre-mix. Probably should disasemble and clean carbs to check for stuck float or plugged jet huh? Also wouldn't this tend to foul plugs and require replacement?
