New forum guy / new (used) boat owner,

I have had this boat for about 1 month and have yet to have a successful outing.

**First time I take it out - Runs fine at first, planes out and hits about 4500 RPM, I run for about 1 minute before hitting a no wake area, I idle for about 10 minutes and then when I throttle up, motor stalls at 2k rpm. I have to idle back to launch pushing the choke to keep it running.
--To the shop - carbs are rebuilt and adjusted

**Outing #2 - throttle up and runs at about 4500 rpm for 4 minutes then stalls. I checked the primer bulb (firm), had to push choke to re-start but it would not stay running
--Back to shop - new water pump/impellor, hot warning buzzer, carbs re-adjusted

**Outing #3 - same as before

Any ideas?

Thanks

Crud in gas tank plugging up the fuel line.
Worn out/ weak fuel pump.
Ignition coil failing when it gets hot, causing it to run on only 2 cylinders.

Also check all wiring for cracked or missing insulation and loose connections.

Let us know what you find.

Re: 89 Force 85

Picked up the boat yesterday. The mechanic said the fuel filter had alot of crud in it so he replaced it. He also changed the diaphram in the fuel pump. I will try it out Friday morning. Keeping my figures crossed.

thanks for the info.
