89 Force 50 Over Heat Buzzer. Water Pressure Psi

how do i check to see if this is working ? i have never heard it go off , i guess thats a good thing but i want to make sure it will go off it there are any issues .. i installed a water pressure gauge with a new water pump at idle and on muffs i am getting about 8 lbs of water pressure what should this be ? i will be taking it out on the water tomorrow and want to make sure all is up to par before taking it out a few miles

To test the sending unit for the overtemp buzzer, disconnect it from the sending unit on the motor head and ground it. If the circuit is good, you will get a buzzer.

I am not sure about the 50hp engine but, if you have a plug on the thermostat housing, you can remove it and make a tell tale. The parts for this are in Home Depot and pretty cheap. This will show if your pump is working while you are riding.

As far as pressure goes, I have heard 8 to 18 pounds but have not seen anything in writing.

ok i did that so i think all is well .. i hooked the water pressure gauge to the top of the head plug so i can see it at the dash .. i also did not want to take any water from the head making a tell tail .. i think we are good to go
