On my 89 Force 50 HP I recently discovered if I pull out on the handle on the control box this will put the transmission in neutral. This will permit the operator to have throttle control during the cold start. Awesome! Unfortunately my control box handle does not slide out very easily. What type of lubricant should I use to resolve this issue? Thanks guys for your help.

Ok, I'll give the ole WD a try. I wasn't sure if I should use it on the plastic sleeve. Have a good one! :)

WD is probably the least damaging of any of the lubes, PB Blaster and the more corrosive lubes can damage the plastic and rubber parts and pieces.
Some, includinmg the carb soaks will cause swelling in the rubber and actually shut off the fuel in the needle seat(ask how I know :) )
