I just got the power tilt/trim going on my 1989 Force 125 boat, but there are a few flaws in it.
1. I cant manually lift up the motor anymore. Clymers says that it should raise easily and fall back slowly. It seems riskey running it in case I hit anything and it wont tilt up, or if I go to dock and for some reason my T/T won't run?
2. The UP button actually trims it down and the DOWN button trims it up, the wires are connected correctly inside the motor?

You should not be able to lift motor manually if the tilt/trim is working correctly. The trim piston has a check valve set at about 1200 lbs psi, that will release when you hit stump and allow motor to kickup. The wires are connected wrong or the electrial motor housing is upside down. When the housing is upside down the motor runs backward. I would not be concerned about the wires, just change them at the relay, then it will be green up, blue down.
