Re: 89 Cobalt

Vegas,

Last year I purchased a Cobalt 172 similar to yours. Mechanically, it is in good shape but the upholstery is shot. Your's looks immaculate, was it redone? If so, where did you get it done.

Great boat and wish mine looked like yours.

Vegas,

Your boat looks badass! I've got an '88 192 Condurre that is immaculate mechanically. I do upholstery work for the military so needless to say, i am in work on redoing my upholstery. I hope to be able to get it as close to pristine as possible. Keep up the good work brotha!

Re: 89 Cobalt

What year is that.......? Man that thing is sweat! What's the story behind it's good looks? How many hours?

Guy buys boat, dies, boat sit's in garage for 20yrs?

Wife kills guy for buying boat, wraps body, stores in ski compartment for 20 yrs?

Or, the photo was taken in 89'. Digital camera in 1989??

I use to but new boats but the last one was used, 5 yrs old and looked brand new like your's at a much lower price than new.

Great purchase!

Re: 89 Cobalt

hey all,
i'm looking at a '90 condurre 202 with only 308 hours on it and a '96 monterey 196 montura. i know that cobalt is a top-of-the-line boat, but can anyone give me some details on the condurre's (or montura's) handling in smooth and choppy conditions, any potential problems to look out for, etc. also, was cobalt using kevlar in their hulls back then? i found a really great boat, but it'll probably go fast, so quick responses will be much appreciated. thanks!

Re: 89 Cobalt

I had a 91' Cobalt 222 and it rode great. Mine had a sharp entry and cut through the chop real well for it's size. Can't go wrong with a clean Cobalt. I guess you figured-out which one I would buy.:)
