89 Bayliner Capri 1700 Kill switch stuck

The kill switch remains on the on position even with the lanyard off. Will any universal outboard kill switch do? If so which specific one would work best? (Excuse the noob question...just want to be sure):rolleyes:

what are we workinng on here a boat or a motor?

if the switch is on the motor...get the one for the motor.

if the switch is on the boat....like in the dash.....than any one will work as long as it is the same kind of switch.....i/s the right number of poles

Thanks for the reply. The kill switch is on the boat on the instrument panel. Its two pole so I take it the one for sale here on iboats wont work....

Universal kill switches have four terminals so they can be used with either outboards or I/Os and inboards. The one here will work just fine. Just be sure to use the magneto kill terminals.
