first off id like to say hi and sorry for another fuel pump question but after searching around a bit I didnt really find exactly what i was looking for but ive been ordering a ton of parts for my boat and I need some help I swapped the gm 5L for a 5.7L the new engine has the mounts for the mechanical fuel pump but does not have the cutout for the push rod so I am being forced to put a electronic fuel pump on but im not sure what one to go with that wouldn't be to much for a carb anyone got any idea it would help out a lot or if u have any other ideas on what to do

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,... Yer lookin' for a pump that supplies 4 to 6 psi,...

Any of the electric fuel pumps on the iboats megamall fuel pump page, for Carbed motors, will work just Fine,...

the information provided by Bond-O is spot on. Do not use an automotive fuel pump, most utilize pressures around 45-50 psi and will be waaaaaay overkill for your carb and result in blown gaskets and seals at a minimum.

You will also need to install an oil pressure switch so the pump doesn't run while the engine is stopped and the key is on.

OMC will be similar to the drawing below.
