I have a 89 Bayliner with a 2.3l OMC Cobra that my family has owned since new. I have no clue of the hours on it at this point in time. The engine runs great and while not powerful still is enough to go out and have some fun.

While looking it over for the summer start up I noticed milky lower end oil and I also noticed that both bellows were bad. I bought some parts and removed the stern drive from the boat so I can replace the bellows, but at this point I need advice on if there is any known good place/ person in the DFW area to take OMC Cobra's to? I live 5 min from a place that said they will diagnose for $90 and they "work on all of them" but I know that does not mean much.. they could do great on the Cobra, or they could screw it up worse.

The last time I had a mechanic work on it was about 10 years ago and he replaced the shift cable from the control to the engine and a few other things but sadly he is out of business.

I know the boat is old, the engine is too small and it has a lot against it, but I am trying to figure out how to get this done right but cheap. I am mechanically inclined and bought the factory manual, I am just not sure I can/ should go into the lower end looking for bad seals when I don't have a good way to test it for where the leak is. Any help / suggestions would be great.
