So finally removed dist. as even with different spark advance degree tries wasn't really getting anywhere. Found condenser/capacitor to probably be the main issue. Have a picture showing the offending part and the dist. springs. Are they supposed to be two different sizes? The weight with the heavier spring doesn't open up as much as the lighter sprung weight. Just curious, I do realize that a 110hp motor on a 3000 boat isn't intended to be a speedboat, and jump out of the hole in 60 feet or anything, but anything I can do to keep me from throwing up my hands and throwing in that 260hp AQ260B I've got ready at $60.00/hr in gas would be awesome. Not sure how you guys see the pic but it's uploaded in this post. As always thanks again in advance for any ideas.

Yes, they can be different sizes depending on the engine.

OK thanks again Don so without removing the bottom gear to get a good handle on the weights, I'm just going for a WD Spray and a good remote dremel buff and reapply cam lube gear and reinstall. That about it, or is there anything else I'd like to do the manual doesn't suggest?

While you are at it, throw out the points and go Pertronix electronic ignition, #2842 I think. I have the set up in my boat and it works great.

Have a great day,

Rob.
