I've installed tilt/trim on this motor that never had one on. I need to know where the relays, circuit breaker get mounted, also where the red power wire, and black ground wires get hooked to. I think i have it figured out, but would like to know for sure before I burn up relays. Thanks Kevin

um, I'm new to working on force engines myself, but I think all three are power wires and the motor grounds through the mount..... as in the red powers a toggle switch from the battery, which then sends current down one of the two power (normally blue and green?) feed lines to make the motor go up, or down the other to make the motor go down. But I suppose it all depends on the tilt/trim motor you purchaced.

If you have the factory wiring, then: Green is down, Blue is up. The relays (again if factory with mounting flange) mount up front in the engine pan just below the battery cables and harness cable. Circuit breaker mounts on the side below the terminal board on the starter side. However, these components can be mounted anywhere you want or anywhere wiring length permits. When I wire a system from scratch, I mount the relays on the exhaust cover.

Both red wires go to one side of the circuit breaker, and another red (ten gauge--it can carry up to 30 amps) comes from the battery side of the solenoid to the circuit breaker. This is so you can operate tilt without the engine running or the ignition switch on.

All black wires are joined and connect to the battery ground wire on the engine block.

Blue wire connects to the tilt motor blue wire and Green to green.

The thin blue and white signal wire goes to the trim switch on the dash. It connects to the bottom terminal and the green and white connects to the top. The center terminal has a separate red wire attached and picks up power from a constant 12 volts at the dashboard. Again, this is so you can operate tilt with the engine and ignition switch off. If you think it necessary, you can fuse this red wire with something like 5 amp ATO. Really not necessary as switch wires only carry signal voltage to operate a small solenoid inside the relay.

Thanks Frank. This is the info. I was looking for. It is all the factory wiring, and I thought by the length of the wires that this is where everything gets mounted. Thanks again. :D
