what year did johnson go to the larger lower ends on the 70hp. I am currently running a 15 pitch prop and am wondering if I should go to a 17 pitch with thelarger dia. A past article in trailer boats magazine ran tests
with different17 pitch props but cautioned to make sure you have the newer trim tab so the prop will clear. info not on me but believe I am running a 13 1/4" dia now.I belive they did their tests with a 14" dia.
Also, exactly what is it wd-40 does, will it start your engine? combustable?

Hello
WD-40 is combustable. Its also a lubricant. Thats why it makes a good starting fluid for dry 2-strokes. It also displaces moisture which can be helpfull if condensation is riddling you plug electrodes.......Its also very toxic!!! Inhalation danger!!!

:)

I have a 55 hp Johnson Commercial with the same lower unit as your 70 hp. The motor came with a factory 17 inch SS prop which is too much for my 55 hp. I need a 13 or 15 pitch. There are many Johnson 55 and 70 hp in our little fishing town so I'm pretty sure about the numbers. What kind of boat are you pushing?null
