My engine will only turn 3,000 rpm. disconnected spark plug wires and runs the same except for one cylinder. This cylider has spark but I think it might not have enough when on the throttle. Engine starts and runs good at idle. It seems to have a very slight miss at 1,500 rpm but seems to want to go but falls on its face and will not go past 3,000 rpm at full throttle. Swapped plugs, coils, wires and problem stays with same cylinder. I will do compression test today and will post tommorow. Please advise, thanks.

Speck, if the problem stays with the same cylinder, you might need a powerpack. Check the wires and connectors leading from powerpack to the coils. Also, lightly sand the block where the coils mount. Post back with your compression #s. Can you give us a little history on this motor?

Basics; fuel, air, spark, and compression. <br />You need to test these. Start with compression and spark.
