888 drive with 302 swap to 305 Chev?

Pretty straightforward question, can my 888 outdrive accept a 305 Chev motor in place of the current 302 Ford? I have a '77 Bayliner Admiralty that I absolutely love, I've had it a couple of years, but the previous owner(s) were not to mechanical to say the least. The engine is all black spraybombed, wiring repairs are not marine grade, past engine repairs show orange Form-a-Gasket rather than proper gaskets, etc. the motor runs well, but there is some valve stem blowby, a fairly significant oil leak has developed out of the intake manifold at the front, and it will require freshening in the future. I just pulled a 305 out of my '83 Monte SS and sold the car, with the intention of rebuilding the motor from scratch for fun. If it will swap into my boat, then I will rebuild it to marine specs and drop it in!
Opinions, ideas, tips?
Thanks in advance...

Ayuh,.... If ya had a Complete 305 of the same vintage as the 302, ya it could be done...

Starting with a bare 305 block, the parts needed are too many, 'n too expensive to ponder...
Nothing off the Ford will help ya, 'n finding, 'n buying the necessary parts for the Chevy would cost more than rebuildin' the Ford...

And a straight forward answer! thanks guys! Unbelievably, just this afternoon while watching the game, my buddy mentioned that another friend just bought an '07 Sea Ray to replace his late '70's Sea Ray (rotting floor and seats). I knew the powertrain on this boat was clean and solid and an identical match to my powertrain, so I gave him a quick call and picked up the whole works for $500!! Outdrive rebuilt 3 years ago, motor solid with a rebuilt carb this year, and lots of other useable parts (gauges, trim/tilt system, yadayada). Now I'm set! The small block Chev will be rebuilt with the help of my boys (6 and 4 now), over time, so as they get into their teens, they may want to build a cool car or something. At the very least it will give them some mechanical aptitude and possibly a lifelong hobby!
Thanks again...
