Hello Everyone! First time poster, hoping anyone has some insight on how to proceed troubleshooting an issue the marine shop doesn't have the capability to test on. I'm look for another shop but figured I'd see if anyone had any ideas..
1988 Suzuki DT55 (05501807590)
My description of the main issue I experience - The engine seems to "bog down" at mid throttle and sometimes kills or at least takes a while to "catch up" and when it does, it has what I'd describe as a mis-fire type of reaction. I'd think it was something in the fuel system/dirty carb/air-leak..ect, but the shop believes it's electrical, "Under the flywheel".
They describe it as "Dropping Spark at mid RPM as indicated by the timing light, but it's subtle and can't tell which cyl it's occurring on". They apparently don't have the components to test and verify where the issue is specifically occurring.
For background: I've replace the fuel lines, filter and pump. The shop doesn't believe it's carb related per how they described above.
I'd appreciate any ideas/thoughts/experiences anyone has so I can possibly find the parts or maybe help guide them a little more if they're willing.
Thank you!!
