I have to replace the bearing in the upper gear case of my 1988 OMC cobra outdrive. I need to know the torque specs for the 2 pinion nuts. I can't find the specs anywhere. Does anyone know what to torque these to?

It involves some special tools, to adjust the rolling torque.

I do appreciate the response, but that seems to be the only response I can find anywhere. Lets say I have the special tools and I know everything there is to know about it except for what the two nuts need to be torqued to. Does anyone know what these torque specs are?

You need and OMC manual as you have to set a rolling torque

BUT if your changing bearings it requires that the gear backlash be checked which gets deep into special tools

I've got the manual and all the tools needed, but I spilled coffee on the part about the torque of these two nuts. Does anyone have those numbers?
