88 omc 2.3 ford cobra engine will not shut off.

Can someone plese help me with this problem. The engine runs, but will not shut off. Replaced the ign. switch, coils, and starter relay. Still will not shut off. The engine is to a 88 omc ford cobra.

Im not sure abouts this,but I think there is a diode between one of the wires connected to the + side of the coil and a connection on the alternator and the diode is open. Look on the number 1 and 2 alternator lead for the diode. If the diode is bad could also damage the alternator.
