Just trying to confirm what fuel filter I need as I don't think its been changed for years.

The Sierra catalogue lists two part numbers:

18-7967 Early model with sensor replaces 35-18458Q3
18-7968 Late model with sensor replaces 35-18458Q4

Trouble is I took the current filter off the engine and its a Quicksilver "35-18458 5"

I'm guessing I need the early model, but looking on the net I see elsewhere someone recommend the Q4 in place of mine.

Any help would be wonderful :)

Perfect thank you. My ignition leads and plugs need changing too (finding info in the UK seems hard) hopefully I'll be able to find all I want form there :)

Quite excited now hope to have my boat in the water soon for a quick shakedown before the winter!

Ok old thread but still relevant. The new season is kicking off slowly that fuel filter is fitted and I see magnecor make lead sets for this engine so hopefully that is on its way.

Is it worth pulling off the exhaust plate and checking the gaskets in there do you think?
