88 Force 85HP Fuel Vent Line

Hi All, Finally narrrowing the issues to the fuel supply from the tank. One question I have is if I should make sure my vent line is above the tank? If it drops below the top of the tank and has fuel in it from overfilling would that create enough of a vent blockage to slow the fuel supply? Trying to get this boat right and appreciate everyones comments. O.T.Water

It should go from the tank up and out the back or side of the boat.Not below the tank>J
