88 Evinrude trouble

I have an 88 Evinrude outboard. It starts fine on land and when you first put her in the water. However, after being out in the water awhile she won't restart. I have had to be towed in the last few times we went out. New to the boat scene so any info will be helpful. Thanks

Aloha, Boater.<br /><br />Too little information to give you any direct suggestions.<br /><br />What is your history with this engine?<br /><br />Are you following User Manual directions for hot starts?<br /><br />Do you know that you are getting spark and fuel?<br /><br />What exact procedure are you using to try to start her?<br /><br />What model engine is it?<br /><br />Let us know.
