88 Evinrude 25 excess fuel mix out exhaust.

E25TECCA. Rebuilt carb and didn't/couldn't remove jet. Cleaned in the float bowl. Engine still dumps enough excess oil out exhaust when running, the grass will be dead for years. I have a manual and following the book, I should have link and synch right. Motor didn't pump water when I got it 7 months ago. I just started working on this and put a in a new impeller. Pumped water fine for a while and now it has stopped moving any water. Planning to pull carb and lower unit again. I must be missing something easy? I am sure these things are not connected but may be a measure of my Evinrude mechanic prowess.

when you are only running on one cylinder you are going to have more unburnt fuel than usual. That's either caused by no spark or no compression. That's where i would start before i did any more repairs.

Have you really cleaned the carb thoroughly if you can't remove or adjust the slow speed jet? it could be junked or excessive wear on the needle
