88 alpha 1 making noise.

It only occurs when in gear. I have not used the boat in two years. I fired her up in the driveway and all seemed well. Got her on the water and she "howled" at me. It seemed to get worse the more I drove it or when I turned the wheel. I am assuming gimble bearing. Could this be u-joints? Engine is a 5.7L.

I have been working on it and have been busy the past two years and she got no water time at all....

Sounds like gimbal bearing, but if there is water in the bellows, it could be the ujoints too.

If the noise is coming from the drive then sounds like gimbal bearing. If from engine, could be alt bearing as well as belts.
