'88 50 hp force fuel line

how do you hook up the fuel line to a'88 50hp force outboard i just got the motor and it has a barbed fitting on the motor above the throttle cable is it just a straight line to that fitting or do i need something different as well and do i use just a normal fuel tank.
any help would be great!

Figure out what size that barb fitting is and buy the hose assembly.Squeeze ball included.Wally world has them.Any tank will work.You just have to make sure the fitting is the right size for the hose.
Make sure they are Ethanol resistant. The hoses you have on the motor will probably need to be changed.J

That barb fitting should be to the assembly that is your fuel pump. It's simply a fuel line that you connect to there. Probably 5/16". You should pickup an inline filter to run between your fuel tank and that fitting. You can pickup a fuel line/squeeze bulb assembly and a clear inline fuel filter at Bass Pro. Any of the traditional outboard fueltanks will work fine. I installed my clear inline filter just after the connection at the fueltank near the squeeze bulb so it's always in easy sight. If you take reasonable care when filling your tank you'll probably never need to clean or replace the filter.
