I have a 1988 Chaparral 5.7L Mercruiser. I have a little oil in the bilge and discovered a leak at the flywheel housing (I felt underneath at the bell housing and got fresh oil on my fingers).

Is it ok to run the boat this summer and wait to replace the seal at end of season? Will it hurt anything? I am also getting some intermittent clicking sounds which I am told are coming from the flywheel. The oil in the engine is fine (full and clean). I'll have to remove engine to replace seal so I'd like to wait. Engine runs good.

Thanks.
