I am rebuilding the carbs and would like to know what orifice sizes to use at higher altitudes. The lakes I have in mind are between 3000 and 8000 feet.
The standard orifice sizes are #36 for the idle, and #50D for the high-speed. Runs great at sea level. The factory manual lists all the orifices and part numbers, but has no information on what sizes to use at various altitudes. What do I need to put in there to run at altutude? Is there a chart somewhere?
Also, upon rebuilding, I found the carbs had only #29 idle orifices. Looks like someone tried to richen the idle at one point. During the rebuild, I plan to replace the idle orifices with the standard #36's. Especially since this will lean things out, is there anything I should be aware of here? The intake gaskets all look good with no leaks, by the way.
Thanks.
