Hi, I have an old Yamaha waverunner WV500 that has been in storage for years. Not sure what was done to it prior to storage, but I planned on draining the gas and try to start. I am new to Yamaha's so I was wondering is someone could give me a heads up to checking this thing out prior to starting it. Thanks...

Re: 87 Yamaha Waverunner

if it were me I would totally clean the fuel system not just drain the tank,, including rebuilding the carb , plus bypass the fuel selector switch and draw from the reserve pickup in the fuel tank. the fuel system can cause a lot of issues if it isn't in good clean condition,, the selector switch usually gets obstructed or dried out and causes air leaks allowing air to be pulled in the fuel lines.
