So, had the boat out a few weeks ago and lost forward gear. Had been pulling tubers and after picking them back up boat would not shift forward, engine just revved. Reverse worked which got us back to the dock that was thankfully close by. I assumed this was most likely a lower shift cable issue. Had some problems with shift interrupt last year and adjusted the cable to fix it.
Now, what I can't figure out is with the boat out of the water I can spin the prop counter-clockwise and have forward slowly engaged and the prop locks. Same thing in reverse spinning clockwise. I would assume if the cable was bad, the prop would not lock correct? What else might I be dealing with here?
