87 bayliner outboard motor swap question

My question is if i swap the force 125 for another brand will the transom mounting holes line up? I plan on doing a transom replacement and the old force is going to get replaced, with what i dont know yet. Anyways should i drill the holes in the transom where they are or wait until i have the replacement ready to go on.

It's unlikely they will line up so wait until you get the replacement motor.
