Hello all,

New to me engine. I was checking the overheat alarm on it by using a test probe, with the key on, I grounded the probe to the head, and probed the tan wire coming from the top of the head. I got a light on the probe, but no alarm.

The alarm works, it was throwing a vro alarm(now disconnected), and the screwdriver in the slot under the cold start lever trips the alarm, any ideas on my next move? The probe wire gauge is very small, so that may play a part in it, I'm not sure.

Thanks

Disconnect the the tan sensor wire and ground the harness side to the block with the key on, the horn should sound.
You should have voltage on the tan wire with the key on.
The sensor grounds the system when the engine overheats making the horn sound off.
