I have a 87 Bayliner with a 87 Force 50hp and am unsure where to post this. The problem is when I start the motor it starts fine, run the rpms up a bit and it throws the breaker at the base of the head unit. I also noticed that the wires going to the lanyard get hot. I bypassed the lanyard as a test and its the same results.
It seems that if you let it idle and very very slowly bring the rpms up you have a better chance of hitting wot without it tripping the breaker. If you do a hole shot its almost guaranteed to trip it.
Any ideas
Thanks in advance

No ideas on what could cause this? It will through it without the motor even running. It really has be baffled. Any thoughts on where to start troubleshooting, don't know if its a short or what.
Thanks

Check your ignition wiring over good and look at the engine for loose or chaffed wires.
