Good day folks,

I have a weird one. I have a 89 Skeeter with a 1986 Evinrude VRO 60HP and the last few times on the water it was humming! Not a problem. Two nights ago I was out and it all of a sudden lost power and the engine was shaking and it was going very slow. I checked the plugs, linkage, throttle everything. I took it out this morning and it started up right away. I can use the throttle (in neutral) and it revs up perfectly. When I put it into forward and give it some gas it just bogs down and won't pick up speed. The motor shakes, no smoke and when I give it full throttle it just doesn't go, just chugs along at a very low RPM.
I thought it may be a fuel issue, but I just put in a new tank a month ago and a new hose as well. If it were fuel related I thought I would see a problem when I throttled it in neutral.
Any quick thoughts? It's musky openner tomorrow and I don't have time to take it in to a mechanic!!!! Nice timing!
Thanks in advance.

Compression and spark check to begin with.
