Longtime browser, first-time poster. Am rebuilding a nice '86 Sea Ray 21' Seville & have been searching frantically for a replacement dash panel....with NO luck. Question for experienced restorers & "old salts": Is there a main resource for replacement/salvage parts or am I doomed to spend hours with my face planted on a computer monitor? Any suggestions would be most welcomed!

Does your boat look like this?

-- this is our '87 Seville midcabin, but I do know there are Seville's that AREN'T midcabins, just wondering if yours is..?

Been going to make a new pair of dash panels for ours for years, just haven't gotten around to it.

As for finding good used ones, ours needed to be changed when it was still a young boat! Probably not many out there at all, let alone in good shape...

(and I find it very ironic you used the word "frantically" in your post! ;) )

Aside from the boat color (blues vs. reds) & that my dash panel has allot of CG regulations, buoy info, graphics & warnings imprinted whereas yours is relatively graphic-free, yep, that's the one. I see yours has the same issue...corners chip & break where the mounting screws are located.

So I assume that I'll just need to forget the idea of finding an original, give up the graphics & instead make a nifty new panel out of whatever material will withstand the elements, right? That'll work...and simplify things allot. Maybe I can use the newly acquired blank space on the panel to post boat rules to aggravate my better half & teen sons such as "This vessel floats on water but the Captain WALKS on water. His boat, his rules." Nah, they'd toss me AND the panel overboard at the furthest point from dry land!

Re: '86 Sea Ray Seville 6.3MC Rebuild

I've made a few dash replacements in my time, my favorite was for our '88 Sun Runner- The bottom panel was unchanged other than removing the powdercoating, the blue anodizing and custom engraving; the switch panel is the same except for the larger holes to fit the Carling switches, the top panel I made from scratch. It made a world of difference, and I'm sure it's one reason we were able to sell the boat so quickly--

Now, I'd offer up my services but because of the workload of my business right now, it might be months before I could even start on a custom project. (which is why my poor Sea Ray is still looking like above (and those pics are 10 years old!)

Ergo, I've never heard of MarineMarks, but I would definitely recommend giving them a shout!
