Thank you for viewing this post. I just placed our boat on the lake today & the bilge area filled with water at cruising speeds, i had to run the bilge pump full time, i was afraid the boat would sink LOL. I saw water spraying out from the nose of the starter, but i think that was because the bilge was full & the flywheel was throwing water through that gap as thats the biggest open gap in the bell housing. I had just replaced the engine, but i double checked everything. I'm thinking there is a bad transom gasket, seal or bellows on the outdrive that's causing water to enter the boat. I did pull the driveline bellows(flexable rubber tube) back on the outdrive & water did pour out from there & the axle & u-joints are pretty rusted, the bellows was in very good shape though. One part of the bellows is connected with a clamp & the other side with a ring clip, could that ring clip not be fully seated??. If it could be in my driveline how do do i pull it. I'm a mechanic so i'm familiar with the engine part, but not the outdrive. Is anyone famiiar with these.
