86 Mercruiser 260 rebuild advise

I am restoring an 86 Chris Craft and would like some advise on the engine. I suspect the motor has a cracked block from the visible rust streaks below what I think is a Crack(need to pull it for a better look). If it is cracked, is a replacement block my only option? If so, what is the best source for a long block and how do I test out the Manifolds. Etc. Also, what parts are Marine only and should be salvaged?

Fuel system, ignition systems, starters, alternator,and any electrical and fuel items should be marine unless you know for sure that automotive is ok.
Even automotive fuel hose is not safe in a boat, so don't assume anything...... Ask.
