I have a 1986 Marnier 40 hp runs fine with muffs in the drive. Once you put it in the water it stalls and misses. Everyone seems to think it is fuel related. replaced fuel pump and line same issue. Any ideas?? Not sure how much commpression it has yet .

I think what Boss Hawg is trying to say is that you should put your post in a different forum.

Anyway, you dont give a lot of information to work with. You will need to find out if you are having a spark issue or fuel issue. It could be either from your description. You can get an inductive timing light and see if you appear to be getting spark of each cylinder. if so than you can maybe assume that you might have a fuel problem.
Has the engine sat for a long time? has it ever had a running problem before?
We need more info to work with to be able to properly assess the situation.

Rebuild the carbs. Even if that is not the problem, it will be soon.
