So i boat my first boat and am very new to boating. I bought a 86 bayliner with a 125hp force. Before i bought it(bought from dad and he just got it) we took it out for a run around the lake and it did fine till we went to dock, at no wake speed it kept dying so when we finally got it home my dad adjusted the low idle and thought that might do it. The following weekend we took it out again with some other people and i only stayed out for an hour and it ran great. They kept going for another 4 hrs and he said he had no problems. So i bought it and took it out yesterday. A friend and i put in about noon and pulled some people around in tubes for about 4hrs...no problems. Then we went to shore and picked another friend, thats when the problems started. When ever we stopped to get some one back on the tube(nuetral) it would dye just like before (at low idle), everytime we would get it started it would run great in idle with lever forward, but when you would go to shift into drive it would die unless you did it really really quik. We pulled the plugs and they look fouled, so we dried and cleaned them and put them back in,still nothing, pulled them back out and they were dry so we figured it wasnt getting gas. BY the way after a while of it dying before we pulled the plugs it finally just wouldnt start. Since the plugs were dry we tried choking it and it would start and cough out unless you could get it in gear quik enough or start in nuetral with throttle on. So all in all it seems like its starving for gas, primer bulb was firm. Anyways please help with any ideas, oh yeah almost forgot we did pull the fuel filter and found a couple of pieces of orange paint chip(there is no orange anywhere on the boat) and blew them out but it still didnt effect out come. So what do you think.

Orange paint chip --- Probably was from a red metal gas tank. I have seen that before.

Search around here, you will see lots of great advice.
