Knobby...if the engine came from the factory with electric start, it most likely has a charging system on it. Look on the starboard side of the engine for a little tin can mounted on a triangular shaped base. This is the rectifier. If you see this, then the engine has charging.<br /><br />If the electric start was an add on, it may not have charging as the charging system was not included in the elec start kit and had to be purchased separately.<br /><br />Hoped we've helped.
