I have a '86 50 hp mercury that starts and idles fine, even going to higher rpms, but when I put it in gear it bogs out immediately. I just changed out the fuel pump diaphragms and gaskets, but might have done it incorrectly, as the new kits had an extra nylon-looking diaphragm that wasn't on the pumps when I removed the old ones. I put the nylon ones on between the rubber diaphragm and the gasket. Does ayone know anything about this? And what other steps I might take to get my motor to operate in gear? Thanks, Scott
