i have searched the forum but i have found no info as of yet. i want to put in new starting wires from battery 1 to switch, then battery 2 to switch, and then switch to starter on the 90 amp fuse. not sure if the 90 amp fuse is needed but its there. the length of wire will be 5-7 foot each. i do know the bigger the better but what is the min gauge of wire to use. i heard not to use the CCA wire but i only fish in fresh water and always trailer the boat. thanks in advance.

The 90 amp fuse is between the alternator and battery
I would use 2 AWG

Don't use CCA wire even in fresh water. Get some automotive battery cable wire at the least. Its not silver plated but seal the ends and they should last for some time before needing to be cleaned
