86 200hp mercury black max

I have a 85 mercury 200hp black max.on a 19' bass boat hydra sport it starts fine it idles ok. the compression is 90 all the way round. put it in the water it runs good. buzz across the lake turn it off fish turn it back on and it take for ever to get back on plan. it seem like when it get in the water for a while the performens suck.
