Hey everyone I'm new to this so please bare with me. Need some help with my 86 125 force. I have fire on cyl 2 and cyl 4 and no fire on cyl 1 and cyl 3. I have checked all 4 coils and they all fire. So would the cd modules go bad on one side and if so how would you check to see if the one side is bad. Any help would be appreciated.

Yep CD modules go bad. Could be other things also. If you switched the feed wires and the coils in question will fire then great you've now ruled out the coils themselves. Look for my post about services manuals http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=464459 and download the one you need. Get a good volt ohm meter and go through the diagnostics outlined in the manual.

Did the other coils fire from the other CD pack when you switched the feeds? Or did the 1 and 3 coils now drop out? You're getting closer to finding the problem.

Thanks for replying so fast. What I did was move the coils around to make sure they work and they did. They don't get fire when hooked to 1 and 3 on the cd module. How do you check DVA on a meter or what setting do you use. I'm will to try anything that will work. Thank you.
