hello just got another boat.its a picton 17 would like to know n1 what is cc of engine, 2 some idea of performance compared to 1992 merc 60hp.3best spark plug for the 85hp. 4 spark plug gap any help will be fantastic.5 ideal all around prop its been sprayed white all over can someone tell me original colours. the model no is 89TL79R NOT<br />SURE ON AGE OF BOAT <br /><br /> phill....

That's one of the few 85hps with a 3.5" bore, so 99.6 cubic inches. Not familiar with your Merc. The 85 is the same displacement as the OMC 140hp V4, but tuned differently, so it has a stout midrange. Guessing, I'd try a 15" pitch if the Picton17 is a heavy cabin cruiser, and a 17" if it's a light hull. To run best, you want it propped to turn around 5800 at WOT.
