i recently replaced my water pump. i can go<br />into foward and all is fine, however switch<br />ing to reverse i get a clicking sound,<br />never fully engages (i don't go anywhere)
More than likely your off a tooth on your shift shaft . Drop the unit back down and turn shaft clockwise till you get neutral the put shift handle in neutral and stab it you might need to turn flywheel to line up splines Good Luck :}
I got a 75 hp Mariner 84. <br />It will go into revers when I drop the Gearbox, so when box down put the remoteshifter into revers as well, and put gearbox back on.<br />mikael
