85hp Force 3 cylinder Tach

Hi All:

A friend at work is looking for a tach for his Bayliner with a 85hp 3 cylinder Force. I don't know the year but I think it is a 90 or so. the tach he is looking for is a US Marine-Faria and is square and has a color display not needles.

If this sounds familiar, please let me know where to go to get one or redirect to the appropriate message board.

This whole picture thing has got me confused too.

Don't know where you can get one of the old square tachs.

He also has an ebay store, and another website.
He stocks a lot of old bayliner parts.

There is a place in Sarasota, Florida called Marine Surplus. They have tachs form all brands there. Some are brand new, some are not. These instruments come from the local boatbuilders in the area. I just bought one of two they had for a force outboard 20 pole (round style). I did see some bargraph ones as well. Their phone number is (941) 758 3552. They had about everything there that you could need or want from props to hatches, fittings, fuel tanks, etc. I just built a center console and got most everything there.

Is it this one? The only new tach you can purchase is the Teleflex Red International series, and then you need to order the 20 Pole tach...its a completely different part number.

Your friend needs to check and ensure that the tach he is looking at is a 20 pole tach. It would be marked/indicated accordingly on the back.
A lot of tachs were made in the square variety for Bayliners/Maxums, etc but many were for 4 cycle inboard/outboard engines not 2 cycle/20 pole...so don't be fooled by the front only.

I bought one for my Bayliner from Great Lakes Skipper. They had old new stock.
