Props attach to the motor.-----But they fit the boat !---What prop is on your motor now ?--What kind of boat ?----Typical pitch for that 85 HP would be 17".-----Motor might struggle to turn a 24 " pitch.

RPM's will tell you if its the right one, along with other things. I got a 02 60HP Bigfoot, started with a 15pitch prop, and at WOT i would surpass the recommended max RPM. went to a 17 and at WOT i now sit at a comfortable 5300 rpm!

Most Merc 150HP Black Max motors have the larger gearcase. There were a small number of V6 motors with the smaller gearcase.

Your 850 should have the smaller gearcase. The splines will fit, but the hub will likely rub your gearcase, if it has the larger hub. I also doub't you will be able to spin that 24P prop to max RPM.
