Hey guys. I was duck huntin last weekend on the river and accidently ran up on a sand bar. When I did my motor sucked up a lot of sand. I noticed it was barely peein out the pisser and no water from the steam holes. When I saw that I stopped runnin it immediately and assummed it ate up my impeller. I just got to pullin my lower unit today to find out my impeller was in perfect shape but there was a good bit of sand in there with it. Could this sand in there with it be what was slowin my flow or is there any other spots that like to get clogged? Any ideas or suggestions on how to flush/clean the system?? Thanks in advance guys any help is welcome.

If the lower unit is still off, hook a garden hose to the water tube and flush the heck out of it. Run a wire up the pisser when doing this and maybe that will open up. You could also pull the cyl head cover and see how much sand comes out of there when you're flushing.

Hey guys I'm stuck again. I flushed my lower while it was off and when I put it back on I tried to see if it would **** any better. We'll it didn't. I pulled the cylinder head cover and there was very little apparent sand but it was bone dry. So water is not gettin to the head. Where and how can I find where it is clogged from between the foot and there. I also hooked up the hose to the lower while the cover is off and there is no water flow to the top. What can I do from here?? Thanks again

Try taking off your thermostat cover and flush water/compressed air, flush water/compressed air wherever water is supposed to come out. don't forget the key on your impellar.
