Hi,

I am reposting this and answering all the question that you asked!

I have a Johnson 69 85Hp that slips out of gear, into neutral (an stays in neutral) under load.

Recently I replaced the lower gearcase complete with a second hand and it had some leaks. I have fixed all the leaks and changed the oil several times.

The reverse and Neutral work fine, it just slips into Neutral at around 4K rpm

The Gearbox is Hydro-electric

I have tried disconnecting the wires to the solenoids and it did exacltly the same thing, ie starting in forward but
slipping out under load.

I am using "OMC Premium Blend Gearcase oil" but it looked a dirty-greenish colour (not milky) when I drained it
last. (after maybe 10 hours use).

Could this problem be a blocked/dirty oil filter?

Cheers,

try another prop. It could be a slipping prop hub...
